Living in different parts of the world was an exciting part of growing up in a military family, but that also meant moving a lot and leaving good friends. It’s a good thing my older sister and I have always been very close, even when she got invited to a dress-up party and I did not.

I’ve studied art through the University of Washington and the Seattle School of Visual Concepts. I am an active member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators and meet often with a fabulous critique group. My artwork sells around the world, was featured in the SCBWI Bulletin, and in SCBWI WWA Illustrator’s Exhibits at the Washington State Convention Center and Seattle City Hall.

I love roller coasters, especially riding in the very first row with my hands up. The more loops and corkscrews, the better.

Even when I was a little girl, I drew all the time and had a thing for eyelashes. See them on my butterfly? Flutter, flutter.

Years ago I was a dog groomer. Did you know those itty-bitty tiny cut hairs get stuck in your nose while clipping dog's hair?

I do not like grooming dogs.

We have a dog named Zorro I groom all the time anyway because I love him. Nico went to puppy heaven a couple of years ago. I miss him.

My favorite things to eat are spicy Mexican food, cookies, and fresh peaches.
